چکیده

“The purpose of this project is to determine if a v i d e o b a s e d method of determining runto-cut style type is as accurate as the pattern determined through the kinetic method.” Non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are common among both elite and recreational athletes. Research shows that such non-contact knee ligament injuries typically involve sudden changes in direction while the body is either accelerating or decelerating. This sort of motion, performed when a player sidesteps to change direction quickly, is referred to as a 'cut.' Thor Besier of the University of Western Australia recently completed two studies on the external loading of the knee joint during running and cutting maneuvers, which show that cutting while running puts the knee joint at higher risk of injury due to the heightened internal/ external rotation forces perpendicular to Brenna Hearn

Neuromuscular Differences Exist for the Lower Limb When Comparing Audio and Visual Cues to Induce Unanticipated Sidecut Maneuvers in University Soccer Players

INTRODUCTION Non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are devastating knee injuries experienced by athletes who participate in sports that involve jump landings and cutting maneuvers and are 2-8 times more prevalent in females compared to males. This injury generally occurs approximately 40 milliseconds after initial ground contact while the athlete performs an abrupt, split-second...

مقایسه کینماتیک خطرساز آسیب رباط متقاطع قدامی بین زنان و مردان حین مانور برش

Background: Women and men significantly differ in the extent of anterior cruciate ligament injury. Based on the evidence, gender especially contributes in non-contact mechanism of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The purpose of this study was to compare the movement patterns of the ACL injury risk between men and women during cutting maneuver. Methods: 13 men and 13 women of national...

When Do Kinetic Changes Place Greatest Risk for Non-contact Acl Injury during the Stance Phase of Football Cutting Maneuvers in Match Play Conditions?

This research aimed to determine when kinetic changes place greatest risk for noncontact ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury during football cutting in match play. Fourteen professional football players undertook three trials of a straight line run and sidestep cutting at 30° and 60° with standardised velocity on an approved football surface. Two types of standardised studded football boots...

Gender differences exist in neuromuscular control patterns during the pre-contact and early stance phase of an unanticipated side-cut and cross-cut maneuver in 15-18 years old adolescent soccer players.

Non-contact ACL injuries generally occur as the foot contacts the ground during cutting or landing maneuvers and the non-contact ACL injury rate is 2-8 times greater in females compared to males. To provide insight into the gender bias of this injury, this study set out to identify gender differences in the neuromuscular response of the quadriceps, hamstrings and gastrocnemii muscles in elite a...

The Effect of Side-Cutting Maneuver with and without Anticipating an Increase of Risk Factors of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury: Lower Limbs Kinematic Analysis

Background and Aim: Lack of attention to biomechanical parameters during sports maneuvers, especially unpredictable maneuvers can be one of the reasons for athleteschr('39') injuries in sports fields. The aim of this study was to compare the kinematic parameters of the lower limb in side-cutting maneuver with and without anticipation in male football players. Methods: In the present quasi-exper...
